Personality: Is usually very stoic, so she can seem uncaring or intimidating to most others. To those she's close to, she can be a warm, caring sister (though in public she may or may not show that sisterly affection). Is very diligent in her job and holds that quality high when assessing others.

History: Even among the squirrel community, white squirrels were rare. As a child, that made Hildegarde self-conscious about her looks. If it wasn't for her father, who was a prominent figure in the squirrel military (known as "the White Knight"), she would have hated her heritage. Her father would occasionally train her in the use of weaponry, but she oftener would be charged with assisting watching over the little princess. Hildegarde at first resented this office, but eventually grew to like little Hazelnut (this may have been the start of her stoic attitude as, out of stubbornness, she didn't want to admit she enjoyed taking care of Hazel). As she grew older, she became a very skilled warrior, only being bested by a few. She lent her skills to the fight against the humans, yet it seemed to make little difference to their enemy. When the toxin was presented, there were some squirrels who had refused to ingest this "immortality potion". Hildegarde would have been amongst them if it wasn't for the persuasion of (and her affection for) Hazelnut.
Current: Hildegarde somewhat regrets her decision for deciding to take the toxin, but does not blame Hazelnut for what had resulted. She has become more aloof, a result of the war and the subsequent passage of time, watching those younger than her come and go.

Additional Info:
- Hildegarde means "protector", while Kardos means "swordsman"
- She obtained the nickname Xena because she was her father's little "warrior princess" //shot
- Can sometimes create the same sensation as a small creature caught in a snake's gaze
- Apart from migraines and infertility, Hildegarde is sometimes prone to sleep paralysis.
